Emily Unwin is a queer writer from the Deep South. She was endorsed by Arts Council England to live and work in the UK under the Global Talent Visa, with Exceptional Promise in Literature. She currently works as the Course Coordinator for Granta Writers’ Workshop.

Her work can be found in The London Magazine, Litro, Heavy Feather Review, Gigantic Sequins (finalist for the 2021 flash fiction contest), Polyester Zine, & Made in Appalachia (long-listed for the 2022 Perennial Press Chapbook Award), among others. She was awarded The White Pube’s Creative Grant for her short story collection.

*tacky! Magazine, an online multimedia magazine that highlights LGBTQ+ & BIPOC artists in the Athens community. Emily & Aaron (co-founders) were awarded the AAAC Quarterly Grant and were finalists in the Get Artistic DIY Grant Program. They were featured in Flagpole Magazine in 2021.
